The the Line Drawn in the Sand

Recently, a few articles popped out at me.  One was briefly about the Steam network banning the title, “Rape Day”, which was a hit to their unstable company to customer relationship, in regards to censorship.  But I felt it was 100% RIGHT MOVE, on their part.  The game literally centralizes itself on gratuitous sexual violence.  So yeah, definitely not something we need as a game or really anything beyond what has been done already.

Personally, I think Rockstar crossed the line when they added a interactive torture scene in Grand Theft Auto V.  Sure, they weren’t doing it to push the boundaries, but maybe to see how a player would respond to torturing someone in-game.  It was sort like the Milgram Experiment, you didn’t necessarily have a choice unless you progressed.  Then again, maybe you did if you’d stopped playing.

GTA Torture

-Rockstar Games

GTA has always been the benchmark on how far games will go and I’ve yet to see the series or any other game (that wasn’t considered pornographic or hentai) add a rape as a gameplay element.  Why?!  Because that is where 99% of people will draw the “line in the sand.”  It’s one thing to have it portrayed as a negative point in a narrative, but a direct interaction is almost a perpetuation of the crime itself.

Now a couple days ago I read about Devil May Cry 5’s western censorship.

All I can say is, WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM???  It’s just a woman’s bare ass!  Not only that, it’s more like a half-moon!  Go watch an episode of “The Simpsons” and you’ll see more nudity there, male and female.  For the longest time, nudity and sexual censorship has been a real head-scratching topic for me.  It’s probably because I was an amateur artist in my high school days.  Or maybe it’s the fact, that I learned about art from books about popular artists of the Italian Renaissance. (Like the painting by Rafael seen below)

Why is the human body, man or woman, so scary?!  Isn’t sex one of our many necessary functions as human beings?!

Now I understand that children are never to be associated with the coupling of two human beings, outside the subject of birth.  It is just something we don’t do, so we protect our children by parenting.  Which stems from the lessons of our history, that are projected through previous generations to keep us protected until we are ready.   However, parents and adults cannot protect their children forever, as the world has its ways of revealing the fact of life:  anatomy, death, sexuality and violence.  Which is why we should be there for them, to give them the proper guidance on the realities of life.

I was roughly 11 years old, when I had my first exposure to graphic violence.  It was a boring Saturday and I ended up crashing on my living room couch.  I’d slept a bit, to just about 9pm, when my brother and sister popped in the movie “Friday the 13th”.  (both were 15 and 19 at the time)  Before they’d started it, I was told to get out and that the movie was too scary for me.

However, I was a bit of a hard-head and thought that I was big enough to watch a scary film.  After all, I’d seen Poltergeist and The Ghostbusters, there couldn’t been anything scarier than that.  Clearly you know where this is going, right?

I spent the entire movie hiding underneath the pillow with occasional peaks at the screen.  But the pillow didn’t save me from the terrifying sound effects of Jason stalking the inhabitants of Camp Crystal Lake.  Which was further intensified by the screams that fell victim to him, until the inevitable conclusion of the film.  Hiding wasn’t an option, it was almost as if I was being stalked Jason himself.  Yet just when I was told “it was over”, but it wasn’t, as the final moments tell you – “he’s still out there”

How many of you are looking behind your shoulders right now?

It was a harrowing first experience to nothing I’d ever seen before and it left me with nightmares for a while.  That is until I had a talked with my mom and dad, which quickly resulted in my two siblings getting their ass chewed out.  But after that, I’d realized that the movie was only fiction, just like any other movie or show.

The same thing happened when my mom found some of my nude sketches in my early-teens.  We talked and she gave me the guidance I needed to fully understand my own sexuality.  Her words were of encouragement; more for my art, than the sexual interest towards the body of a woman.

Turning back to how we view violence and sexuality in the modern media.  It seems as though a naked body or sexual relations are considered shameful, almost like Queen Cersei’s “Walk of Shame”  Which is why, I absolutely love HBO, Showtime and many other networks remember that sex and nudity can be an integral part of the narrative and art itself.  As a matter of fact, sexuality and our own bodily experiences come much more naturally than events of rage, trauma and violence.

Yet, I can play the remake of Resident Evil 2; where limbs are shot off, people are torn in half and crushed to death.  (Not saying the portrayal was a bad thing, the remake is PHENOMINAL!)  I’d say this game is, the 2nd most graphic depiction of violence I’ve ever seen in my 30 years of gaming.  (Whereas Mortal Kombat X is #1)  But the violence depicted really suits the game and truly amplified the horror experience.  Now God forbid that we see a bare-naked lady’s ass, genitalia or a full-on sex scene in an M-rated video game!  Because that is just too graphic for us compute.

The line in the sand is drawn only few meters when I step onto the beach in regards to sexual content, yet the other line is being washed away by the tide.

How Valentine’s should be.

This evening many guys and gals are getting lucky because of this one special day. Many of us spent more money than we should’ve, thanks to the commercialization of Valentine’s Day. To be honest, the holiday is really a good and bad thing. This is coming from a dude, I know…mind blown, right?!

After some deep thinking for a few days on what I was going to get my wife. I stopped myself before I made a decision to go to the store. I realized that Valentine’s Day is really about appreciating those that we love deepest. Maybe it can be through flowers, cards and candy; but I think that doesn’t quite scratch the itch.

Valentine’s should be what the true meaning Christmas is. Appreciating what is great in life. For those of us who are fortunate enough to have a lover or companion in our life. This is a special time to let each other, I appreciate you being in life more than ever.

To be honest, I think we don’t stop to just truly LOVE AND APPRECIATE that man or woman in our lives.

So I came up with a better idea.

These are what I call Hot and Cold notes! The concept is super simple. Take two different color Post-It notes.

Make one color “sweet” and the other “sexy”.

For the “sweet” ones, I really took my time and thought about what makes my Louie, so wonderful. Some would be motivational, sweet and wholesome. While others would be about basic stuff, like about her smell, smile and what I thought was beautiful to me.

Now for the “sexy” notes, I got to have fun with them. Some of them would talk about the good things we did in bed, things that excited me and even new activities I’d like us to try. To make it work, I did avoid vulgarities. Let’s be honest, “I want to put my cock inside you.”, just doesn’t come off as romantic.

Instead, I would write “I miss feeling the heat from your mouth, as bodies move together!” Which sounds much sexier than the former.

For me, I did 91 Post-it notes. One for every month we’ve been together. Then for the “sweet” ones I placed them in “cool” areas in the house, like on fans or the refrigerator. The same is then done to the “sexy” ones, by placing them on the stove, a clothing iron or toaster.

To get creative, I used things like faucets to do BOTH on each knob or side.

Honestly, for me it took me a while to do. But was a very cheap way of reconnecting with what matters in your life.

Like the saying goes, “it’s the thought that counts!”

Since the introduction of the Xbox 360 (maybe earlier?), gamers and players alike were treated with little bite sized snack add-ons, we call DLC or downloadable content (for those who’ve been living in a bunker for the last decade) At first, it started as an avatar picture for your profile, a new weapon skin or an new character to play with.

Then came major add-ons from games like The Elder Scrolls Oblivion, which added totally new areas to explore, which was pretty cool, but most of it was just REALLY short.   The Shivering Isles expansion was a MUCH larger world that took the same game and placed into an “Alice in Wonderland” kind of world.  Fans LOVED it and companies steadily picked up on the fact that additional content AFTER a retail release was a GOOD thing!

Mass Effect, Gears of War, Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5 and many others began launch their own content MANY months following the release of a successful title.  (BIG HINT:  SUCCESSFUL TITLE!  More on that, later.) Fans that bought the add-ons were left salivating for another release or add-on.  Some were given what they wanted, others sorely disappointed by stale sequels and poor expansions.

Currently, the market is FLOODED with DLC content!!

Okay everyone!  Put on your rose-tinted glasses!  – link

Most releases are GUARENTEED to have expansions, regardless if the game is successful or not!  Games are given shorter production windows and made smaller in value.  It seems like we’re getting the short of the stick with many of our games.  (At least, the Playstation and Xbox owners are, not sure about the Nintendo crowd.)  Recent releases such as Destiny, carry a heavy price tag for players that just want the FULL experience RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!  Will this ever be the same?!   No, probably not.  Unless community mods become a welcomed staple on console games, it’s not going to.

Which brings me to whole purpose of writing this shit today, I’ve decided to weigh what’s truly good about DLC and what isn’t.  Maybe this will encourage you and others to be more mindful DLC purchases or just plunge into a really great add-on!

BAD – IT COSTS TOO MUCH!!  A prime example, is the expansion for Fallout 4: Far Harbor.  Following a price increase on their “season pass” from $29.99 to $49.99 Bethesda (Fallout 4’s developer) released Far Harbor with a $25 price tag!  (WTF right?!)  Many fans believed this was due to it being a massive addition to the game, extending play for many hours.  What most people got was an add-on that was short, but sweet, lasting up to 10 to 12 hours.  It left many fans with a sour taste in their mouths, if they ended up paying the full price for that DLC.  (Opinions may vary)

THIS!!!  (Points finger at picture and circles picture)  I don’t want… THIS!   (P.S. THIS only happens by buying DLC, Guns, LOTS of booze, and “tips”)

On a note with season passes, many of these are going for the price of FULL RETAIL purchase!  Many of which, are being announced at PRE-RELEASE/PRE-ORDER times.  (Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch!)

GOOD- YOU GET MORE STUFF FROM THE GAME YOU LOVE!  Many will complain about the price of DLC.  But in all honesty, IF YOU LOVED PLAYING THAT GAME, wouldn’t you want more content when everything is all said and done?!  SURE!!  DLC does this, with it, you’ve got new modes, weapons, skins, customization options, stories, areas, maps, etc.  For example, I love playing Mortal Kombat X (or XL as it’s described with all of the content added), the new characters like Jason Vorhees, the Predator and other classic characters folks asked for and got.  DLC works out great when it works for you!  Hell, I’ll even admit, Call of Duty’s zombie maps ARE creative, with their easter eggs, new weapons and guest characters with one liners tossed in for good humor.

BAD-LACK OF CREATIVE CONTENT!   Sadly, when we get a fantastic game, that universally, fans love.  We find a yearning for some extra continuation of that same gameplay and feel.  But the expectation is pretty much a letdown once the real content arrives.  Borderlands 2 did this with its second season, which seemed to have its team already exhausted from ideas on expanding the current game as is.  Most likely, a lot of the material was more director’s cut, stuff that really didn’t need to be resold to us.  (They were bit sized add-on that were cheap, admittedly and were SORT OF fun, if you weren’t already bored with the game.)

GOOD- ADD-ONS BREATH NEW LIFE INTO MULTIPLAYER SESSIONS.  Electronic Arts and Activision have always been pretty good at putting out map packs.  Premium members on both tend to get an expansion once every three months, which is clearly intended to EXTEND its server life.  This usually keeps its loyal fans in sessions and constantly in competition.

BAD – ONLINE GOES DEAD WITH EXCLUSIVED SESSIONS.  Battlefield Hardline and Arkham Origins were perfect examples of this.  One or two months after an expansion was released, the exclusive servers focused on that particular expansion were GHOST TOWNS.  Think about how many times, you’ve seen a session like that!!!  IT HAPPENS A LOT!!  Fortunately, EA has been catching onto that with Hardline and has been gradually been offering their DLC free during certain weeks.  Does it change anything???  Not that I’ve noticed, as too many players have moved away from the game.  (Battlefield with less vehicles and small maps, makes for a less interesting game!)

Go on Hardline’s “Betrayal” maps and this what you get…forget having 64 players.

BAD – DEVELOPERS ARE FORCED TO MAKE DLC!  Street Fighter V is the prime suspect with this crime!  The title was marketed out as a retail release with the competitive players in mind.  BULLSHIT!!  Capcom, you shortened the window because you thought that making a earlier release would boost sales.  Well, they were right!  But the barebones presentation burned a HELLUVA LOT OF BRIDGES with the fans.   The ONLY thing that might have saved SFV was that the eventual content was made free.  Personally, I passed on this version, as there WILL be another version released at one point.  Put simply, give us a finished product, THEN release new content.  That seems fair.

YEAH! This is what I wanted to see…oh wait, this never happened.

GOOD – IT TIDES US OVER UNTIL SOMETHING BETTER COMES ALONG.  You’ve got the content and DLC and you’re loving it more than Mickey D’s.  Then, BAM!  The game you’ve been waiting for has been released.  Hardcore gamers can identify with this, yet that’s what a game backlog is for!  Either way, you’re good to go.  (Personally, I don’t fall into this category and just play my older games in my spare time.)

GOOD – FANSERVICE IN A GOOD WAY!  An honorable mention is Batman: Arkham Knight.  As much as people bitched and hollered about the season pass for that game.  If you got the discount, you ended up with a SHIT TON of bat goodies:    6 playable short stories w/characters to use in the challenges, 50+ outfits and vehicle skins and 1 major story add-on.  I was lucky and paid $20 bones for it, but I admit it would’ve been a value at full price!  DLC does this really well most of the times; sure it should be stuff they add as unlockables from the retail game.  But sometimes, you wouldn’t get to see that content without DLC, after release.

BAD – MOST DLC IS EITHER FUN OR A CHORE – I can’t count how many times, I’ve played DLC that was poorly injected into the game or story of something I was playing.  This just SHOWS the developers laziness and poor efforts in planning the additional content.  It bothers me knowing that have to expect this when I get DLC for a game.  It shouldn’t be that way.

Thanks for reading this lengthy rant on how DLC MAKES or BREAKS a purchase.  I may be preaching to the choir with some of you guys, but maybe some of you were stuck on being indecisive about it.  Hopefully, I helped today!

Lacking Trigger Discipline – Part 1

Hey everyone, I’d figure I would share my feelings on everything that has been happening in regards to the Black and Blue/Black Lives and All Lives Matters issues.  Also, I’d like to go over a few other incidents in recent days that have been coming out about gun violence, in our country.  I know, this isn’t my usual thing, but we all are aware of what is occurring and IT IS TERRIBLE!!

Before I start, I’m a gun owner, whose always had a love of them and enjoy shooting them on occassion at the range!  This goes back to my days in the service and continues to this day!  However, I’ve always had a strong standing on the gun control problems, that occur in my country.  (The United States, obviously!)

Most of all, what I’m seeing as our primary issue is, not the amount firearms sold in our country; it’s how we as civilians are NOT demonstrating proper control of them.  Now these incidents in Louisiana, Dallas and Minnesota aren’t solely based on gun control and usage of force for law enforcement; it’s a overall misconception of how we view our man or woman that WE DO NOT KNOW.

First, I’ll go over the issues hitting our streets and what is hurting our communities.  Then I’ll elaborate on usage of force and what is wrong ON BOTH SIDES of “the blue curtain”.   Last, I’ll talk about a few ideas on how we can better our communities, handle our weapons and address a few of the variable that are hurting America, more than anything.

“Why can’t we all just along!?”, it was a profound statement made by Rodney King over twenty years ago.  Yet, he was right, despite how he’s perceived by the public.  Hatred is another woman/man’s excuse for one’s jealously, because someone has it better or gets something.  It isn’t about religion, race, disabilities or personal issues.

Wars, tragedies, crimes, abuse and discrimination is all based upon how we perceive people!!!!  HOW STUPID IS THAT?!

Now when it comes to policing, I’m going to straight with you, on what I know FROM EXPERIENCE.  Let’s just say before I starting writing here, I’ve had a few occupations that got me very familiar with both how modern policing is going and were it’s NOT improving.

Policing these days is for the most part not as community oriented, as it should be.  There are some communities that have got it right, others are better and then you have those that are just a pot cooking oil left low on the stove.  The latter “seems” to be that officers aren’t encouraged to remain fair in their observations during a patrol.  Why should an officer pay more attention to someone whom is black that is hanging out on a corner for 30-plus minutes; than a woman, well-dressed white man or ANYBODY else.  Perhaps we aren’t encouraging officers and public servants, to suspend their judgements and go on the FACTS that they observe.  (I can’t remember how many times during training I would hear, “JUST STATE THE FACTS!”) Yet it should go beyond stating and more of a practice.

Honestly, this isn’t happening everywhere and is not the standard for officers and people of the law enforcement community.  We spend far too much time being polically correct and stepping on people’s toes based on their demographics and not just on them being a person.  I’m all for the saying, “ALL LIVES MATTER!”  C’mon!  It’s common fucking sense!

If you’re a nice person, you should be treated as such.  You’re asshole…karma should come back and bite you in the ass!  I assume, you get the point.  Regardless, we have to stop judging people off of shit we don’t know.  Much like, what has perpetuated this whole social movement, it’s about making the right decisions and taking personal accountability for the wrong ones.  Especially, after you just killed another human being!  Everyone should be put through the same judicial process, civilian and public service members!

(Albiet, there has to be special care taken into account for those that guys, as they can be a target in a general population, while in custody)

Another thing we have to remember is, we have to learn to stop being so reactive to EVERY incident and take the time to realize, that WE DON’T KNOW ALL THE FACTS.

Next entry, I’ll talk more on issues in regards to gun control and gun violence!

Feel free to discuss openly about how everything that has been going on recently.  These are very frustrating times for EVERYONE.

Trash it or Recycle: Filler Content

Most gamers look at these things as simply more things that they can do in a game.  Others view it as a means to expand the game to unnecessary lengths.  When we play, many titles are littered with side quest/tasks/missions, collectables, one-dimensional characters and side stories that don’t pertain to the narrative.

I feel it’s overused, personally.  We play further to get the better gear, equipment and really try to improve our characters progression.  Years ago, this was throttled fairly well, many games balanced progression from having someone being OP’d (overpowered) and from gaining mindless junk.

Love or hate Fallout 4, how much of this was storyline-related? – SOURCE

Now we are given tasks that do help us get to where we’re going, but there seems to be so much unnecessary content.  Take “The Witcher” games; as you progress in the story, little by little, you are given access to various quests based upon your level.  Some are under you level and you can clearly see that, in the menu.

But if complete them, which can range from being pretty lengthy to a 5-minute hike, you are rewarded with paltry amounts of gold and only 1 XP; should you be well above the level.  Each title does this, why?

Getting the collectibles can be fun and enjoyable, but is now bordering on tedium.  EVERY game has them now, with the inclusion of trophies and achievements.  It pretty much become a forced feature, as all games HAVE to include a trophy/achievement set.  (Don’t get me wrong, I like trophies/achievements, for the most part)

I look at it much like eating a desert.  Was the content enjoyable, bland or just some much that ruined the dish or made it too rich?  Take this whoopee pie, for example.

The cake layers are most likely going to taste pretty good, suffice they aren’t burnt or overdone.  (If they did, you would not have an overall good quality game!  Which would ruin the experience.)  Is the filling inside, marshmallow, frosting, Kool Whip or Elmer’s glue.  Depending on those factors, is how that filler or filling is going to cater to your enjoyment.  Now that is food for thought

Filler also really needs to stop being the distraction from the true purpose of the gaming experience.  Look at Metal Gear Solid V, if you just played the story and listened to the tapes; you probably got a better experience out of it than most of us.  When I played, I searched every nook and cranny, completed every mission and compiled resources.  For what?!  Bragging rights, mostly.  (which is getting kind of old)

Some do get it right; Borderlands is a prime example.  Much of the content remains fresh, with hilarious voice-overs, level-balanced loot and multiple characters that do have unique play styles.  It was a good balance, which never felt old to me.

So, what do you guys think?  Is it getting old or do you like it?

Tweaks and Rage, how we f*ck up fiction!

Following my completion of The Witcher 3, I moved back onto Arkham Knight.  So far, I’m almost done.  But I have a few issues with the whole Arkham series and just comic adaptations….period.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m lovin’ this like Mickey D’s, and I’ll elaborate a little more on my perspective later.

The narratives in the story for comics are always the standard that these adaptations adhere to.  This bothers me, BEYOND ALL BELIEF!!!!!   Why?!  Aren’t the fans getting enough homage to their favorite characters just by making the adaptation?

First is TWEAKING; which is when movie/videogame/tv adaptations change the story to suit the audience.  Why must they only tweak it?!  Why can’t the writers just do something dramatic and just …WRITE!  I’m so tired of seeing people complain about the movies, game or show not following the “CANON” story.  Who cares?!  Really!  Okay, Okay we know that nerd rage is out there and sure, it’s as big as a Mack truck.  But here is the funny thing; I think tweaking is pissing more fans off than actually changing the story!

Take for example, this whole bitch and complaining about Marvel and Disney changing the character in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie.  They are changing the character in order to take the character in a different direction, as opposed to Batman Begins, that seems to have a similar storyline to the new movie.  (which makes sense, if you’re a writer!!!!)  However, there are the ragers out there and conspiracy theorist that are saying they’re doing this to appease the Chinese audience.

(Nerd rage!) Okay, put the guns DOWN, I mean UP, okay.  1..2……………..3, you win!

You see, the character they’re changing is Tibetan, which we all know wants nothing to do with China.  People believe that China will ban it, thus Disney & Marvel losing major cash profit from Chinese viewers.   I get it, Disney/Marvel are greedy SOBs and want to get as much as they want.  That and appeasing to the Chinese censoring, by changing your writing is pretty much like a writer becoming China’s bitch.

Whatever the case, maybe it’s like that or the companies ARE just doing it to prevent foreign censorship.  (This is the total opposite of creative writing or just creating period.)  Yet, it’s tweaking that bothers me overall.  Why can’t writers, keep the basic premise of the characters (how they got powers, supporting roles, setting and villains), but WRITE SOMETHING DIFFERENT, be BOLD and SURPRISE the audience!  How would it be, if certain characters got killed off, others changed affiliations or some made different decisions?  It would be dynamic!

Look at the Resident Evil movies, fans don’t like them as much as the games, for obvious reasons, they WERE different!  But most non-gamers liked them and if you ignore THE RAGE on metacritic, it’s a fairly good title.  This holds true for most of them.  Yet, I found that the writers kept trying to please fans and general viewers.  This is where they failed HARD.  You either do one or the other, NOT BOTH!!  The further they went in different directions, the worse these titles got!!

In Arkham Knight, they did it right!  They took the stories from the comics and took it in a different direction.  Yet, does it still have to affect the canon, if it’s different? Depends, but I think that’s up to the writers at home base, not up to the fan base, if you follow my meaning.

Perfect example of coming with something new!

Second, is OVER-EXPOSURE; which does nothing but make viewers tired of the same things fans have experienced.  Once you’ve done a trilogy of something, stop making origin stories in the productions, if they’ve already been told.  If you missed it, go watch the earlier movies; plain and simple.

Throughout the Arkham Games, it seems your always fighting a lot of repeat villains; while iconic, is repetitive and gets old.  Despite this, there were some great moments in many of the returning ones, while others just should’ve omitted from being filler content.  Batman has a vast array of characters to work with, draw from them?  Knight did this, keeping too many familiars in the game.  Sure, they were side quests, but did we need them, debatable.  (They are optional, after all)

Results from over-exposure can result in death.

Last, is PLAYING IT SAFE!  The Walking Dead, both on TV and the comics have HUGELY successful simply because they do the opposite!  Despite as to how much fans hated this recent television cliffhanger, the writers have us HOOKED!  The reason is, “NO ONE IS SAFE”, which is what the theme for the season was.  As far as we know, we could see the main protagonist be nixed!  What would happen, if it was done major characters…perminantly!  Comics do this way too much!  In fact, they abuse it to the point that fans expect dead characters to return, in some way.  Personally, I hate that!

It’s great to do fan service, do Easter eggs and references.  But catering to a certain crowd, just ends up looking like either too much editing or an excuse to be lazy with writing fiction.

This sickens me beyond all belief!!!

Should this man be guilty of this horrible, disgusting act!   He never should’ve been blessed with a woman to love him and children to grace his life.  Normally, I’m even tempered and not like this, but this is a shame to all the fathers out there that work so fucking hard to keep a great reputation as good fathers.

We love are children no matter how much they cry, yell back at us and test our patience!  But NOTHING, SHOULD EVER COME TO WHAT THIS MAN may have done!

Dude, if they find you guilty, all I can say is, prison is too good for you!  Redemption is not in your future, sir!  You will be judged appropriately beyond this life, and I pray that what they say is not the truth and this child did not die, BY YOUR HANDS and by an true unavoidable accident!

But life isn’t like that, there are men who were never suited to have to children, but were given them.  Men that are still boys inside, regardless of their age.  Some were never given the guidance and became only a cycle of violence, that society does not need nor wants.  Life deals us hands and I can attest that not everyone receives a turn in the right direction.

Honestly, just thinking about what has happened here goes beyond my thought process. This sickens me beyond all belief!!!  Something like this goes beyond all I can comprehend!

Yet there are SO MANY that are NEVER graced with a child’s smile, the once in a lifetime laughter, the unforgettable hug, that little thing gives to you, in the strongest squeeze they can muster.  Regardless of how you are judged, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THAT AGAIN!!  It’s gone, YOU THREW IT AWAY!

What are you saying?! Why are you doing this?! – Ground Rules for a future foundation.

Recently, I’ve noticed that my audience is either silent lurkers, occasional likers of my material and the rare person commenting on what I post HERE.  It’s irritating, and I know I may NEVER reach Rachael Ray status ANYTIME IN THE EXISTENCE OF TIME, but having comments and people talking would be nice.

First off, I focus on posting about VIDEO GAMES, why?  Isn’t that what everyone is doing?! Can you be a little original, you say?  Well, yes, maybe and I dunno.

Playing video games is my outlet from the stress of work, family life, etc.  It’s an outlet I do for my enjoyment.  Another outlet that has been severely neglecting is my writing.  (Which I will get back to later) So, one plus one equals two (or ONE, if your a Led Zeppelin fan) and here I am trying to perfect a craft.  I don’t post here because its going to make me ANY money or profit and don’t foresee that EVER really happening.  (If it does, it’ll be a blessing!)  I do this because I LOVE TELLING and SHARING STORIES and well…. TALKING.  Along with that, I share with no restraint from vulgarity, censorship or moderation.  (Except mad trolls and SPAM)

Sure, everyone has video game blogs today, hell the Nintendo generation is in THIRTIES and the Atari in its FORTIES.  We’re all creating families, growing old and carrying the load like our generations before.  Except we carry a controller in hand and not a TV remote, as our time passing activity.  Outside the life I live with my family, this is what I enjoy and I bring you my experiences, with my sense of humor and perspective.

Yep, WE OLD!!  Ladies, I’m being the gentleman on this one,                  gracefully excusing you from the pic. 🙂

I don’t censor my work because too much of the world is censored as is.  You won’t find me starting any campaigns to stop censorship, but you can bet your ass I will express whatever I want on here.  I’m against it, with the exception of keeping content away from kids, that aren’t ready for that kind of exposure.

Originality is what I strive to have on here.  After doing this for 4 months, I’ve seen a vast array of videogame blogs.  Most are filler…and it’s disappointing.

Many regurgitate the same news articles that 30 other globally known videogame websites have already BEAT TO DEATH on their perspective.  I don’t do news, ITS DEPRESSING, in the real world and BORING in the videogame world.  All it does, is build hype and lets us down so many times.  Sure there are exceptions, such as a title that delivers as promised, but that isn’t what is always happening, IS IT?!

This is my site and personally, I’m against it!

Reviews are a big one, too!  Like assholes, everyone has one…or two. (reviews…not assholes)  There is far too much abuse of the 1-10 scales.  Many average gamers will only pay attention to 8-10 rated games…WHICH IS ABSURD!!!!!!  Don’t get me wrong, user reviews are the way to go, if your going to review a game.  After all this is where the recognized game news publishers FAIL HARD!  (Face it, they’re paid off just as much as your veteran politicians in office.)

FAIL HARD….LIKE DIE HARD!!!!  Cred – Sploidgif

User or peer reviewed games and media ARE THE WAY to go and they give you more of a real score than wastes of space that actually get paid to do this for a living.  But I refuse to do any grading or ranking of any games on here.  However, you will get mini reviews, recommendations of WHAT I FEEL you may want to keep, rent or stay away from.  But that’s as far as I go!

Honestly, I’m SO TIRED of the PLAGIARISM that is so rampant on the net.  I’ll give you a perfect example.  Recently, I was offered to work with another site, where I would submit articles to his site.  First, this was pro-bono work (fo’ free!!) and in exchange, the guy would bring traffic to the site.  My side of the deal was, that I’d have to post news articles TWICE A DAY on his site, which after really looking at his site after joining I realized I would’ve been doing all of the work.  This would’ve been fine, but he didn’t want news or  opinions from what I read on a DIALY BASIS, he wanted rewrites; I.E. PLAGIARISM.  After about a month, he wanted a review of a game.  What he gave me was something I couldn’t work with; a PC game.  I just don’t do PC games, they’re just too high maintenance and I have a shit computer.  I really tried to get it to work so I could do my job, but it NEVER worked, so that went out the door.  Ultimately, I let the guy boot me from the site, because I simply had NO LOVE FOR HIS SITE, none, zero, zilch, NO MAS!!!!  Everything he wanted me to do there was against my purpose of writing…IT TRULY WAS!  So I’m glad things turned out that way.

This was exactly how I felt when I was working there.

As for original content.  I’ve got a few ideas.  One is posting a share or a reblog of sites I enjoy.  Obviously, I reblog good articles and give you my take on them.  None of these are original.  But what is original is my gaming impressions and perspectives as I play along with them.  Second are my real life experiences and how they relate to me, gaming and just being a father and husband.

At some point, I will start featuring an artist in relationship to games.  (either music-related or literal art…good artist)  This will be where, I’ll give a rundown of their good works and maybe get you amped up enough to go check em out, giving them a little more support in the progress.  This also goes for fellow gaming bloggers out there, whenever I see something I like, you know I’ll share them, giving them a plug too.

Most of the content will always be my impressions of video games.  Whenever I play the bigger games that take more love and attention such RPGs and big sandbox.  If it’s a sports or online only games, I usually don’t go too in depth with them and only give a general overview of.

Outside of games, you’ll get my normal life happenings, funny things I go through and sometimes a bit of sharing my personal life concerns.

I know there are a few returning readers here and by now, you know what kind of content I bring to the table, so I’ll always keep it coming!  The rest is there in the descriptions, under my profile.  Enjoy all I have to share with you guys!

The Walking Dead: Whose gonna die?!?!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS FOR THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 6 UP TO  EPISODE 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also note:  Please be advised I have not read the comics in depth and will not refer them.  No spoilers for the comics, but you can key in on details of the characters from the books.

Holy shit!  Looks like Dwight got the jump on Daryl!  WHAT THE HELL?!  At the moment, fans are looking at Daryl to get nixed from the show on the finale, considering he was shot at not even a meter’s distance.

A few things before I get to the meat and potatoes of the article.  First, is the realism of what was happening in the final minute of episode fifteen.  Realistically, if your hit at close range, there is world of places he could’ve hit him, so possibilities are grim to survivable.   Daryl has survived much worse, but considering that Dwight is known to be a sadist, there is probably far worse pain he can experience.  My thoughts, he’s probably mortally wounded and will live this out ONLY if his neck is saved somehow.  If the moment arises, he will take the opportunity, but then again, he and the team are getting sloppy.  Hell, what I want to know is, why is it that Dwight was able to sneak up on the team, best tracker?!  This happened to Carol a few episodes back and now Daryl, either he’s one hell of a tracker or Daryl was never that great!  They’re letting this group eat at them and they can’t focus.  Either that, or their bodies are no longer starved and they are no longer the hunted, which would explain the overall carelessness.

Second, he isn’t an invulnerable character, NOR IS RICK!  But the guys working on the TV show, are going to be looking for shock value and that is going to keep us wanting more.  As to how they will do that, is to be seen.  But let’s be honest, no real heavy hitters have died yet…so whose it going to be?!

Daryl – Likely, but I don’t think so, because it was presented that the very end of the episode, which means,  THERE’S MUCH MORE TO IT!  But I have to admit, as badass as Daryl is, Carol and his personal vendetta against Dwight, are the only things left in his story at this point.  I’m feeling he will fulfill this purpose for the story.  In my opinion, he could continue on or go out in a blaze of glory.  Doing the latter, would be more suiting to his character and having him just get killed off or bleed out just won’t do Daryl justice.

Abraham & Sasha – He’s the most reckless of the bunch and I feel Eugene put some foreshadowing on how he’s served his purpose in the narrative.  Having Sasha captured or worse, which it’s possible that Sasha from collateral for the shot fired from Dwight.  Abraham is known to be willing to sacrifice himself for his cause, and right now it’s Sasha.  So, he may go down or they may both go together in some dramatic fashion.

Glen – Glen is trapped, but he’s been this way before and at this point he is more of an escape artist than Jesus.  I’m familiar of his fate in the books, so I’m talking about it.  Dwight is in his captivity, so it’s not looking good for him.

Morgan – Something about Morgan’s extreme respect to how all life is sacred, could lead to his ultimate end, especially if he yields to somebody like Dwight or worse.  Although, I have a feeling the gun Rick gave him in the end of the episode, may play a key role in the finale.  It’s a strong hunch, but somehow it’s connected into how the finale will play out!

Rosita – Sadly, I don’t know where her character development could go at this point. Tara is gone for the remainder of the season (due to real-life baby), Abraham doesn’t want her anymore and Denice is dead and there to give her moral support.  I see her being as self destructive as Abraham, at this point.  Should she get free from Dwight’s grip, I’d imagine she’d impulsively retaliate and essentially get herself killed.

Carol – She’s cursed to kill anything that gets in her way.  How, when and if she’s to be redeemed is to be seen.  But I have a feeling Carol’s story has a long way to go.

Michonne – I feel Michonne and Rick, have left each other exposed which is going to be left off until later on.  If anyone is still on their toes, it’s Michonne, but ANYTHING can happen and NO ONE IS SAFE!

Carl and Rick – There isn’t a chance in hell in them killing them off anytime soon, as there they are just too deeply rooted into the narrative, but you never know.

Judith and the Alexandrians – With the direction that Dwight and crew are heading, chances are that they take them hostage or nearly wipe out the community. Enid may end up hiding Judith, and she’s got that JSS (Just Survive Somehow) mentality which could ensure the baby’s safety. The Alexandrians are far more vulnerable than than the assault on the prison made by the Governor.

Maggie – It seemed as though she is having complications with baby since we last saw her. Which could be a real danger or just a false alarm for her unborn child.
